TOTAL SPORT - MULTI SPORT EVENT COMES TO WAIHI
24 and 25 April 2010 - ANZAC Weekend
Starts at Bowentown and ends at the Pumphouse
The event will be a multi-sport event offering a diverse mix of disciplines, and caters to a varied mix of individuals and teams i.e. the whole event can be done by an individual or the legs can be shared throughout a team (of up to 4 people). Event disciplines will include (with approximate distances); Swim 1 - 2km, Paddle / kayak 11 - 15km, Run (off-road / trail) 10 - 16km, Mountain bike 18 - 28km, Final run 1 - 3km (teams do final run together). As well as the feature event there is also an opportunity to build a specific event targeting children. The "junior survivor" type event is a 3 - 5km adventure / obstacle course can be run in conjunction with the main event, and has proven to be very popular at other multi-sport events.
